About Bamboo Restaurant

Bamboo Restaurant is one of the chinese restaurants listed in Schenectady, New York. The business is registered at 3770 Carman Rd #7, Schenectady, NY 12303; use this page to check its hours, phone number and Google rating before you make the trip.

In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Schenectady; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in New York are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 amโ€“8 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Bamboo Restaurant at (518) 356-6878; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 83 reviews, which is a strong result for a chinese restaurant in Schenectady and suggests consistent service.

Schenectady is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Traffic in Schenectady peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Sometimes you just want Wanton Soup. Bamboo does a great job with all their dumplings and the other American Chinese food. The owners seem to be an older couple that care more about their food quality than anywhere else in Schenectady. I wish they made real Chinese food as well! I feel like they would make killer Dongpo Pork, Chicken Feet, Tendon with Sea Cucumber, Jellyfish Salad, etc. If you like Beef Broccoli, Sesame Chicken, Sweet and Sour, this place has the BEST American style Chinese food. I haven't tried their pork yet, and that is usually the protein American Chinese makes hard, dry, and sometimes inedible (Scotia/Glenville Chinese food comes to mind, if anyone could make decent Asian food, you'd make generational wealth with all the terrible Asian food in Scotia/Glenville). The only bad thing is the atmosphere. Let's be honest, you aren't bringing a date here, or sitting down for a traditional family style Chinese meal. So atmosphere shouldn't be a problem. This isn't my favorite style of food, I'd rather go to Hu's House or Ala Shanghai. If American Chinese is your thing, DEFINITELY give this place a try!!!

Absolutely loved this place! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The shrimp with broccoli was tender and coated in a rich, delicious sauce, while the beef dish was savory with just the right balance of spices and vegetables. The rice was fluffy and complemented everything perfectly, and the crispy wonton chips were a great crunchy addition. Everything tasted high quality and well-prepared, not greasy like some takeout spots. The portions were generous, and you can really tell they care about the flavors and presentation. Definitely one of the best Chinese food experiences Iโ€™ve had recently โ€” Iโ€™ll be coming back for sure!

Usual go to was closed so tried Bamboo as was nearby. Combination plate was the usual size, filled a container. Veggies crunchy and they were willing to sub veggie fried rice and shrimp egg roll for pork. Nice thing was getting enough crispy noodles! Other places skimp and charge for extra.

Very good quality Chinese food. I usually order the chicken with broccoli, orange chicken or the General Tso's. The chicken is nice chunks and is very lightly breaded. The meals always taste great. They also have a lunch special weekdays from 11-3 pm with a choice of entree and free soda, soup or egg roll all for about $7. Highly recommended.
